QUICK
CONSTRUCTION
All seam allowances are 1/4". Or, you
can use the edge of your presser foot as the guide to sew the seams.
| 4 |
Fold the blunt end of the
rectangle to the point where the decorative cutting begins; pin the edges.
Sew the side seams. Turn the pillow right side out. |
|
|
| 5 |
To create openings for the tie, measure
3" from the point of the pillow flap. Then, make two cuts that are 1" apart
and 3/4" in length. First, mark the cuts with a chalk fabric pen. To prevent
mistakes with the cutting, place the area to be cut over the buttonhole
cutting mat. Carefully cut through ONLY one layer, the pillow flap, using
the buttonhole knife. |
|
|
| 6 |
Find the center of the
decorative ribbon by folding it in half and creasing it. Next, lay the
flap over the pillowcase and turn back the point of the flap up to the
cuts. Using a straight pin or a chalk marker, mark the area of the pillow
just between the cuts. Over the mark on the pillow front, pin the center
crease of the ribbon. Sew through the ribbon. |
|
|
Fill your pillowcase with the square
pillow form. Finally, draw the ribbons through the cuts, tie and enjoy! |
