SEWING
Sew all seams using the edge of your
presser foot.
Remember: Backstitching at the beginning
and ending of all of your seams will keep the stitches from unraveling.
| 1 |
Fold the tab in half lengthwise,
and sew along both of the cut edges. |
|
|
| 2 |
Fold the large scissor
sheath in half as shown. Stick one end of the grosgrain ribbon between
the layers of the scissor sheath and sew around the cut edges. |
|
|
| 3 |
Take one of the large rectangles
and place it on a flat surface. Position the needle holder, small scissor
pocket, pocket A, and pocket B over the rectangle. Pin the pockets and
needle holder in place. Sew around the pockets and on both of the straight
edges of the needle holder. |
|
|
| 4 |
Next, lay the other rectangle
underneath the one with the pockets. Line up the edges. Between the layers
of one short side, center the tab and pin. To the other short side, insert
the grosgrain ribbon to attach the large scissor sheath; pin. Sew around
the outside edges of the rectangle. |
|
|
| 5 |
Finally, center the colored
side of the snap on the outside of the tab pushing the prong side of the
snap through the felt. Follow the instructions included with the Snap Setter
to complete the snap installation. To position opposite side of the snap,
fold the creativity kit in half and then fold the tab over. Mark the spot
where the snap should be. Again, use the instructions with the Snap Setter
to complete the snap installation. |
|
 |
If
substituting a buttonhole and button for snaps, use the button to mark
the buttonhole size on the tab. Sew the buttonhole. Carefully cut the buttonhole
open. Fold the creativity kit in half and fold the tab over. Make a mark
in the opening of the buttonhole. Sew the button to the outside of the
creativity kit.
Fill your smallest pocket with a seam
ripper, measuring tape, and some of your favorite buttons. The larger pocket
is perfect for holding a seam gauge and fabric marker. Stick some needles
in the needle holder, stock the scissor pockets and you are ready to sew! |
